 CRISIS INTERVENTION

CAVA is available 24 hours a day through the CAVA Crisis hotline at 386-3777. 

A CAVA representative is available to provide free and confidential support.

 VICTIM COUNSELING

Individual counseling is available for all victims of sexual violence.  Counseling is also available for individual family members and friends.
Group counseling is offered to adult women of childhood sexual abuse.

 ADVOCACY / ACCOMPANIMENT

CAVA assists individuals in securing services from other agencies.  We provide support and accompaniment through legal, medical and judicial procedures.

CAVA also assists victims of any crime in filing financial compensation through the NYS Crime Victims Board.

OFFENDER TREATMENT

CAVA conducts group treatment for incest offenders and partners referred by the St. Lawrence County (SLC) Department of Social Services.

 EDUCATION

Sexual Violence Prevention

CAVA offers a free prevention program for children in grades K - 12.  Age-appropriate programs are available and are designed to educate and empower children and teens to stay safe from sexual violence.

Community and Professional Education

CAVA"s program manager provides presentations to community members, organizations, local businesses, parent groups, schools, etc. on topics such as:

* Handling and Disclosure of Sexual Abuse (Child or Teen)
* Information on How to Talk to Children About Sexual Abuse Safety
* How to Help a Victim of Sexual Violence
